During my late summer exploration in Matane city, Canada, I encountered two distinct varieties of mushrooms – Coprinus comatus and Agaricus campestris. Here’s the final output of pictures that got published on iStockPhoto.

These photographs are part of my ongoing effort to capture nature at its finest in all its forms and beauty! I hope that these pictures will inspire others to explore and appreciate the natural world. Until next time, happy mushroom hunting!

Coprinus comatus,

The first picture is of Coprinus comatus, a type of mushroom that grows in moist climates. It has a white stem and a brown cap. Its spores are released from the underside of its cap which can be seen in this image. This specimen was found growing near a riverbank in Matane city.

This is a picture of a mushroom called a Coprinus comatus. It is also called a shaggy ink cap, lawyer's wig, or shaggy mane. This mushroom gets its name from the fact that it often leaves black ink on your hands when you touch it. It is a saprobic fungus, meaning it feeds on decaying organic matter like fallen leaves or dead wood.

Agaricus campestris

The second photograph is of Agaricus campestris, a type of mushroom that grows in grassy areas. It has a deep brown cap with white gills on the underside. his specimen was found growing near a patch of pine trees in Matane city.

This is a photograph of an Agaricus campestris mushroom shot in my backyard in the province of Quebec. This mushroom also called field mushroom or meadow mushroom is found in fields and grassy areas. It is a light brown color with white gills underneath. The stalk of the mushroom is white and slender, tapering towards the base. The cap is slightly curved and has a flat top surface.

How I became an iStockPhoto contributor?

When I first picked up a camera and took my very first photo of a flower in the park, I was enchanted. From that point on, I made sure to seize every photographic opportunity that came my way. Then in 2019, an idea struck me – why not turn this beloved passion into something profitable? So with no little apprehension or hesitation, I started uploading images onto iStockPhoto – and here we are today three years later! Who knew such a simple hobby could potentially transform itself into a business venture? See my portefolio
